Q. I don’t have any knowledge of Chinese. How long will it take for me to be able to speak?
A. It depends on your goal level and individual characteristics, but if you take our lessons twice a week it will take about three months to reach a level where you can conduct simple daily conversations with slight imperfections in your Chinese. Unlike English, many people are new to the language. I think that it is an easier language to learn than English, because of the shared commonality of kanji characters.
Q. Is it possible to take test preparation lessons for tests such as HSK?
A. Yes, it is possible. You can count on us.
Q. Is it possible to learn Chinese in English?
A. Yes, you can. We can teach you Chinese in English. However, there are only a limited number of teachers available, so we require an additional ¥500 per hour.
Q. Is it possible to make a lesson plan according to the students’ level?
A. Yes, it is possible. The basic process we take is to interview each student about their goals, check their current level, and propose a study plan that is appropriate for them.
Q. Is it possible to make a lesson plan to fit my budget?
A. Yes, it is possible. Please don’t hesitate to ask when you make your inquiry.
Q. Do you give out homework?
A. Yes, we do. Preparation and review are very important to improve your language skills. The instructor will consult with the students and set up a course within reasonable limits.
Q. Are there tests?
A. Yes, there are. They are incorporated as part of the regular study plan.
Q. Do you issue a certificate upon completion?
A. We do not issue certifications of completion, but we can issue a certificate of attendance if you wish us to do so.
Q. How many people can you accommodate in a group lesson?
A. We can accommodate up to about 15 people.
Q. Can all the teachers speak Japanese?
A. Yes, they can.
Q. How are the lesson fees calculated?
A. They are calculated according to the time a lesson takes. Besides, if textbooks and teaching materials are required according to your lessons, we will inform you in advance and ask you to purchase them at the actual cost of the materials. If the lesson location is not designated by us or our company, we will charge a separate travel fee. The cost of one trip is ¥5,000 (tax not included) for travel within 23 wards in Tokyo.
Q. What are the other costs besides the lessons?
A. Other than the lessons, there are the following costs.
Textbooks and teaching materials…about several thousand yen for one or two items (actual cost of materials).
Travel fees…For lessons at places designated by your company, it will be ¥5,000 to ¥10,000 per lesson depending on location.
Food and drink charges…If you take a practical lesson at a Chinese restaurant, you will be charged for the actual cost of the food and drink consumed.
Q. Is there an admission or application fee?
A. No. There is no admission or application fee.
Q. Are their cancellation charges?
A. If you inform us of the cancellation by 5:00 pm on the day before the lesson, there will be no cancellation fee. However, for cancellations on the day of the lesson, the price of one hour of the lesson will be charged as a cancellation fee, because the teacher’s time and a classroom have already been secured.
Q. Is it possible to pay for monthly lessons in a single payment?
A. Yes, that’s fine. For corporate customers, we also accept payment of invoices at the end of the month.
Q. Can you issue invoices and receipts for me?
A. Yes, we can. Please feel free to let us know if you need one.

About the teaching materials
Q. Is it necessary to buy textbooks?
A. It depends on the level and the learning method, but we usually ask beginners to buy one or two recommended textbooks so that they can learn more effectively.
Q. How much do I need to pay for the materials?
A. It depends on the study plan, but in most cases, they cost about several thousand yen for six months’ worth.
Q. Can I choose my materials or use the materials I have?
A. Yes, you can. Please consult with the instructor when you register.
Q. Can I make a lesson plan that doesn’t use any materials?
A. Yes, you can. Please feel free to consult with us about what kind of learning method is most effective for you.
Q. Is it possible to get the lesson materials in PDF or other formats?
A. It depends on the materials, but it is possible to use iPads and other devices.
Lesson times and locations
Q. Where are the lessons located?
A. We can take lessons in Tokyo or the suburbs. However, for our office (Yoyogi or Nihonbashi) and areas outside of Shinjuku and Shibuya wards, we will charge travel fees.
Q. Is it possible for you to come to my office for lessons?
A. Yes, that’s fine. However, if you are located in areas other than Shinjuku and Shibuya wards, you will be charged for travel fees.
Q. At what time can I take lessons?
A. Most are between 10:00 am and 9:00 pm.
Q. How do you decide on the lesson schedule?
A. The schedule for the following week will be decided by coordinating with the teacher’s schedule.
